INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE

 The Internal Complaints committee of A.C.College was duly formed in 2021 under the University Grants Commission (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Education Institutions) Regulations, 2015. The ICCof A.C. College comprises of a Presiding Officer, three other Faculty members, one non-teaching member and one external member from a non-governmentalorganisation or association committed to the cause of women or a person familiar with the issues relating to sexual harassment, nominated by the Governing Body.

OBJECTIVE

The aims and objectives of the ICC of A.C.College are

  • To look into and adjudicate the matters related to any kind of sexual harassment of students or female employees of the college.
  • Maintain zero-tolerance for any kind of sexual harassment
  • Keep vigilance over  instances of gender discrimination, victimization and abuse, and act  promptly to redress any issuesthat violated the provisions of the POSH Act, 2013.
  • Create awareness about gender discrimination and gender equity
  • Provide a secure, safe and violence free environment to all students, teaching and non-teaching staff in the campus

What is Sexual harassment?

“An unwanted conduct with sexual undertones if it occurs or which is persistent and which demeans, humiliates or creates a hostile and intimidating environment or is calculated to induce submission by actual or threatened adverse consequences and includes any one or more or all of the following unwelcome acts or behaviour (whether directly or by implication), namely;-

 (a) any unwelcome physical, verbal or non verbal conduct of sexual nature; 

(b) demand or request for sexual favours; 

(c) making sexually coloured remarks

 (d) physical contact and advances; or

 (e) showing pornography”

Who can lodge complaints?

  • Any aggrieved female student, female teaching ang non-teaching staff

  • Any vulnerable male students and students of third gender

How to lodge complaints?

  • use offline grievance redressal box of A.C. College
  • use ‘Online Grievance’ displayed in college website
  • email can be sent to accjalicc@gmail.com
  • The complainant can immediately contact the Principal or any member of the committee for ICC
