We at Ananda Chandra College always try to facilitate all the running schemes provided by Government of West Bengal for the welfare of the Students. Under the visionary leadership of Mamata Banerjee, Hon’ble Chief Minister, West Bengal, The Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal has introduced the Student Credit Card Scheme for the students of West Bengal to enable them to pursue education without having any financial constraints. This scheme is designed to support the students to pursue secondary, higher secondary, madrasah, undergraduate and post graduate studies including professional degree and other equivalent courses in any School, Madrasah, College, University and other affiliated institutes within and outside India. Students studying in various coaching institutions for appearing in different competitive examinations like Engineering, Medical, Law, IAS, IPS, WBCS etc, can also avail the loan under this scheme. A student from West Bengal can obtain a maximum loan of Rs. 10 lakhs @ 4% per annum simple interest from the State Cooperative Bank and its affiliated Central Cooperative Banks and District Central Cooperative Banks and Public/ Private Sector Banks. 1% interest concession will be provided to borrower if the interest is fully serviced during the study period. The upper age limit for the interested students has been kept as 40(forty) years at the time of applying for loan. The repayment period shall be fifteen (15) years for any loan availed under this Credit Card, including the Moratorium/ repayment holiday. With a view to assisting the meritorious students belonging to economically backward families in the State of West Bengal to pursue higher studies, the Government of West Bengal introduces this scheme of giving scholarships at different levels of higher studies, at educational institutions based in West Bengal. The Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme has been thoroughly revamped in the year 2016 to cover more number of students as well as to enhance the scholarship amounts significantly.

Aikyashree Scholarships (Post-Matric Scholarship) for Minority Students is an initiative of the Government of West Bengal implemented from the financial year 2019-20. The main objective behind launching West Bengal Aikyashree Scholarship scheme is to provide financial assistance as a scholarship to minority students so that they can complete their basic and higher education without thinking about the financial burden.
Kanyashree Prakalpa is an initiative of the Department of Women Development and Social Welfare, Government of West Bengal, implemented from 2013. The key objective of the scheme is to include the status of girl child in West Bengal by incentivizing schooling of all teenage girls and preventing their early marriages.
Kanyashree Girls whether single or married are eligible to apply for financial assistance for pursuing post -graduation studies under K-3 component of Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme.
Oasis scholarship, initiated by the Backward Classes Welfare Department and Tribal Development Department, Govt. of West Bengal, enables students belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories of the state to pursue their education with financial assistance. The students need to be West Bengal domiciles and can apply online through the official portal of the Department. SC/ST and OBC candidates of both graduation and post-graduation level are eligible for the Oasis scholarship.
