It is so true that education is the manifestation and the most cherished possession of a person that drives him towards enlightenment from the confines of ignorance and darkness. The quintessential role of education is to enkindle/ ignite the spark of knowledge with rational, righteous and scientific thoughts in a human being which eventually leads him to perfection. Education also plays a pivotal role in ameliorating the living standards of a nation and its demography. If education acts as the driving force for both individual and collective enlightenment, its institutions serve the purpose of the body to its soul. With such visionary zeal, Ananda Chandra College began its journey in 1942 and has been constantly thriving so well to have claimed as one of the premier institutions in entire
North Bengal, thanks to the people involved in academic and non-academic space for showing their perseverance and dedication to make the college a centre for excellence.

Situated in the northern fringes of the state of West Bengal with economically backward, marginalized, deprived sections; the people mainly belong to SC and ST communities from the tea
land residing in the cultural periphery, Ananda Chandra College has accepted the challenge and responded equally to create a democratic space of opportunity, equity and dignity among the students. I take delight in the academic success of our students. Over the years our college has produced many individuals who are highly acclaimed both in the country and abroad.

This college has been long associated in the collective memory of Jalpaiguri not only for its academic excellence but also for imparting holistic education to the students by emphasizing the ecological, physical, social, moral values and life skills for self-development. To meet the ever-rising expectation of the students, parents and society at large we are committed to strive even harder. A wide array of services such as cadets of NCC Battalions, NSS Units, Physical Education, Games and Sports, Career Counselling Cell, Anti-Ragging Squad, Women’s Cells for Women empowerment, Grievance Redressal Cell, Student Aid Funds and many more have been introduced for the multi- faceted developments of our students. The constant guidance and encouragement of the Governing Body advocate for successful implementation of the vision and mission of the College with a systematic approach, commitment and dedication by the faculty and non-teaching staff, cooperation of parents and the hard work of students, together have branded the college as an esteemed and academically rich institute. Even in this Covid-19 pandemic, we are taking recourse to various online and digital spaces to make the teaching-learning process more engaging.

Finally, it can be said that introduction of the college prospectus is always emblematic of setting the road map for a progressive futuristic outlook aiming at a quality education.
