National Cadet Corps&nbsp(NCC)

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the `biggest volunteer youth organization of the world with the MOTTO – Unity and Discipline’. It was established on 15th July, 1948 on the recommendation of Justice Kunjru Committee to cultivate the ideas of discipline, patriotism and good and responsible citizenship Among the youths of schools and colleges at the national level. Immediately after the establishment of the NCC in the National level,

 A.C College initially raised a sub-unit of the NCC under the stewardship of 2/Lt. B. Das Shastri. However, it could not run due to some unavoidable circumstances and as a result it was suspended  in the year 1950. Again it was permanently revived in   1955 under the joint initiative of Lt B. Das Shastri, 2/Lt A.B. Majumder and 2/Lt S Das. Since then, NCC Sub-Unit became an integral part of A. C. College and has been playing commendable role in various activities. From the inception of the A.C. College NCC Sub-Unit, 13 teachers/Officers (including present two) commanded/ commanding the College Sub-Unit as Associate NCC Officer (ANO). They are:

3.         Lt. N.K. Nag

4.         2/Lt. M.L. Choudhury

5.         Captain N.N. Chatterjee

6.         2/Lt. H.K. Chakraborty

7.         2/Lt. M. S. Biswas

8.         2/Lt. P.K. Banerjee

9.         Captain T.K. Dutta

10.       2/Lt. S.K. Sengupta (1975-81)

11.       Lt. Hironmoy Biswas (1979-88)

12.       Captain Parimal Bapari (2003- )

13.       Captain Bhushan Adhikay.2008-)

Presently Lt. Parimal Bapari and Lt. Bhushan Adhikary has taken the command of the college NCC Sub-Unit respectively and now jointly (both Captain Now) commanding the cadets. It has one company and one platoon of NCC cadets. From the beginning, A.C. College NCC Sub-Unit was a Boys (SD) unit but in 2005 it became a mixed unit, where the ratio of Boys and Girls are 2:1.
