It is so true that education is the manifestation and the most cherished possession of a person that <\/span>drives him towards enlightenment from the confines of ignorance and darkness. The quintessential <\/span>role of education is to enkindle\/ ignite the spark of knowledge with rational, righteous and scientific<\/span> thoughts in a human being which eventually leads him to perfection. Education also plays a pivotal <\/span>role in ameliorating the living standards of a nation and its demography. If education acts as the <\/span>driving force for both individual and collective enlightenment, its institutions serve the purpose of<\/span> the body to its soul. With such visionary zeal, Ananda Chandra College began its journey in 1942 <\/span>and has been constantly thriving so well to have claimed as one of the premier institutions in entire<\/span>
North Bengal, thanks to the people involved in academic and non-academic space for showing their<\/span> perseverance and dedication to make the college a centre for excellence.<\/span> <\/p>

Situated in the northern fringes of the state of West Bengal with economically backward, <\/span>marginalized, deprived sections; the people mainly belong to SC and ST communities from the tea<\/span>
land residing in the cultural periphery, Ananda Chandra College has accepted the challenge and <\/span>responded equally to create a democratic space of opportunity, equity and dignity among the <\/span>students. I take delight in the academic success of our students. Over the years our college has <\/span>produced many individuals who are highly acclaimed both in the country and abroad.<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>

This college has been long associated <\/span>in<\/span> the collective memory of Jalpaiguri not only for its <\/span>academic excellence but also for imparting holistic education to the students by emphasizing the <\/span>ecological, physical, social, moral values and life skills for self-development. To meet the ever-rising<\/span> expectation of the students, parents and society at large we are committed to strive even harder. A <\/span>wide array of services such as cadets of NCC Battalions, NSS Units, Physical Education, Games and <\/span>Sports, Career Counselling Cell, Anti-Ragging Squad, Women\u2019s Cells for Women empowerment, Grievance Redressal Cell, Student Aid Funds and many more have been introduced for the multi- <\/span>faceted developments of our students. The constant guidance and encouragement of the <\/span>Governing Body advocate for successful implementation of the vision and mission of the College<\/span> with a systematic approach, commitment and dedication by the faculty and non-teaching staff, <\/span>cooperation of parents and the hard work of students, together have branded the college as an <\/span>esteemed and academically rich institute.<\/span> Even in this Covid-19 pandemic, we are taking recourse<\/span> to various online and digital spaces to make the teaching-learning process more engaging.
